Job description

An opportunity has arisen for a legal counsel to join the legal team and report to and support the General Counsel based in Milan and Finance Director in the UK with a wide breadth of work. As part of a small legal team working within a global luxury brand the role will be varied and challenging. Typical work you will be involved with includes:

 

  • Day to day legal support across the business including advising on marketing, social media, e-commerce and events (including providing support in relation to any fashion shows throughout the year) related matters;

  • Assisting the GC/FD on corporate projects;

  • Assisting on, devising and implementing training for regulatory matters and corporate social responsibility programmes;

  • Assisting our Brand Manager to manage, maintain and update our worldwide IP portfolio;

  • Advising on and drafting a variety of general commercial agreements including sponsorship, collaboration, supply, distribution (which may include licensing, franchising, agency and distribution arrangements), confidentiality and IT contracts (including licence and SaaS licence agreements);

  • Providing ad hoc advice on regulatory matters including GDPR, competition law, modern slavery and corporate governance;

  • Liaising with external counsel and managing any litigation; and

  • Supporting the office and retail function in managing a portfolio of property (including 11 retail outlets) across the UK.

 

Experience

Ideally you will have 1-4 years strong commercial contracts and/or IP experience gained within a leading private practice or in-house legal team. However, additional corporate and/or real estate experience would be considered an advantage.  You will have experience of providing proactive, commercial legal advice, be comfortable working independently and be willing to develop and expand your skill set. Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, with a sense of humour and a can do attitude are also must haves.
